Finding Compassion in Chaos

Even in the mist of war and destruction there might just be hope for humanity yet. Deep in the war and chaos of Syria, one man finds it in his heart to care for those who were abandoned and left-behind. No, not people but cats who were left alone to fend for themselves when their owners had fled the Syrian town due to the war and violence. Finding compassion in chaos.

The man’s name is Alaa and he drives the town of Aleppo’s ambulance. Already familiar with care and consideration due to the Screen shot 2014-09-28 at 1.48.03 PMnature of his job, Alaa goes out of his way and takes time to feed the now abandon war-torn neighborhood cats everyday.

According to Reuters, Alaa buys $4.00 worth of meat everyday to feed the cats so that they do not go hungry. It is estimated that there are about 150 cats roaming around the town with out their owners. Alaa puts aside the money everyday to be sure that all 150 cats get to eat. The cats are scattered throughout his neighborhood, but no doubt come a running when Alaa arrives with their daily meal. He has been taking care of and feeding the abandoned cats for the past two months.
